Meanwhile, in New York, a makeshift team of engineers and specialists fights physics, scale, and international politics to restart the grid from a cold, black start. Where every effort takes time and requires electricity they don’t have. And every day more people die.

I have more than forty years’ experience as a global power executive developing, building and operating generation and distribution companies in more than twenty-five countries on six continents.
When I’m not writing fiction, I construct crossword puzzles in my free time. My puzzles have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Apple News+, among other outlets.
I currently reside in Belize.
